The brief

Vicki makes artisan skincare in small batches: face oils, balms, cleansers, soaps and gift sets, with some plants grown in her own garden and allotment. Her customers care about what goes on their skin and like buying from small, local makers.

She wanted to look more professional, build trust with new customers, sell more, and show up on Google. Above all, the site had one job: get people buying.

What we built

A soft, botanical design in the palette she asked for, sage, lilac, cream and muted pink, with an elegant serif for headlines and her new watercolour lavender logo throughout.

Her business started with a single face oil, so the face oils lead the homepage, with clear how-to-use notes for each. The rest of the range follows: balms, soaps, body care and gift sets, plus a close look at what goes into her Wild Rose Face Balm.

Vicki already sold through Shopify, so we kept that for the basket and checkout and linked every collection and product to it. She keeps one stock system and one checkout, and the website does the selling.

Building trust

For a small maker, trust is everything. Her story page tells it in her own words. A reviews page brings together real customer feedback, and a gallery shows the products as they really are.

We were careful with claims, too. Natural skincare is a field where it's easy to overpromise, so the copy describes ingredients and how products feel, and stays clear of medical claims.

The results

In the 30 days after launch, compared with the 30 days before, Lavender and Love’s online sales went up by 377% and online orders nearly tripled.

Before the new site, most of her sales came from local stalls and customers collecting in person. Within a month, online sales had almost caught up, which means less time spent selling and more time building the business. And more than one in five online customers has already come back to order again.

Launch

The site went live on 7 October 2026 on her own domain, registered in her name. It's on fast global hosting, verified in Google Search Console with a sitemap submitted, and every shop link was checked before launch.

It's looked after on our care plan, which covers hosting, the domain renewal and changes as her range grows. When she reorganised her Shopify collections the week after launch, the site was updated the same day.
