The brief

M&B are a second-generation, family-run firm of industrial and commercial heating engineers, established in 1987. They install, service and repair gas and oil heating for factories, warehouses and commercial premises across Wolverhampton and the Midlands.

Their old website had been built years earlier and hadn’t really changed since, but it still ranked well for the industrial heating searches that bring them work. They wanted something modern, professional and easy to contact, on one condition: they couldn’t afford to lose their place on Google.

Keeping their rankings

Before touching anything, we recorded where they stood: their Search Console data and the searches they appear for. Then we rebuilt the site around what was already working.

All 21 existing page addresses were kept exactly, with their page titles and wording carried across, and every old link, feed and sitemap redirected to the right new page. Every old address was checked against the new site before and after launch, so nothing Google already knew about went missing.

Service pages kept at the same addresses, with their wording intact and a new design.

Quotes and call-outs

Their customers are businesses with a heater down and staff getting cold, so the phone numbers sit at the top of every page, alongside a quote form that asks just what the engineers need: the job, the system, the site postcode and a number to call back.

Call-outs and gas leak reports arrive marked urgent, and choosing gas leak shows the National Gas Emergency number straight away. Outside office hours, customers are told to call or text and they’ll be booked in the next day.

Every enquiry type routed so the urgent ones stand out.

Design

The homepage heading is built from their own workshop sign: a black plate with their M&B roundel, the heaters they work on, and their Gas Safe and OFTEC registrations. The rest of the site is clean white and steel navy, filled with photos of their own installs.

A feedback page sends happy customers straight to Google reviews and lets anyone else tell M&B privately what could be better, with a QR code and printable card the engineers can hand out on site.

Feedback in one tap: Google reviews for happy customers, a private form for everyone else.

The results

Within a week of the new site going live, M&B moved from 7th to 1st on Google for “industrial heating West Midlands”, while keeping their top positions for their Wolverhampton searches.

Nothing Google already knew about was lost in the move, and the faster, clearer pages gave their rankings a lift straight away.

Launch

The site went live on 30 October 2026 on their existing address. Their domain was moved into the company’s own name, their email was left untouched, and Search Console was set up with the new sitemap submitted on launch day.

It’s looked after on our Grow plan, with ongoing SEO and their rankings tracked every month against the searches they already lead.
